Sometimes I feel like I miss the night sky when I look up, but then I remember I never really knew it at all. I’ve always lived in or around cities with faded night skys. I didn’t understand what the ancients meant by “Milky Way” until I saw the band of our galaxy for the very first time at seventeen years old. This doc poses an excellent question: we have cities that are so beautiful they literally outshine the stars, but at what cost?
